DankStocks: a stock analytics platform built and run by MCCSoft
DankStocks is a free stock market data and analytics site at dankstocks.com. MCCSoft wrote the application, runs the data pipeline behind it and hosts it on the same production server as its client sites. The database, the nightly data jobs and the AI reports are all MCCSoft code on MCCSoft systems.
- 8indices on the live ticker strip
- 300AI company reports refreshed each week
- 1,100browser tests before a deploy
What it is
Visitors get real-time quotes, a stock screener, market news, financial data for each company and a tracker for trades made by members of Congress. The home page carries a ticker strip for eight indices, among them the Dow, the S&P 500, the Nasdaq and the Russell 2000. The search box takes a ticker, a company name, a member of Congress or a bill number. There is a global economy map, and a tracker for persons of interest is in preparation.
What MCCSoft built
The web application is Lucee CFML on Tomcat against PostgreSQL 17. The front end is plain JavaScript with modules loaded on demand, and CSS the application bundles when it starts.
Behind the site is a set of Python scripts that keep the data current. Prices load every weekday evening, technical indicators after them. Congressional bills, committees and trades load every night. Index membership is rebuilt weekly from SEC N-PORT filings. The earnings calendar refreshes every morning, and reported earnings are merged in each afternoon.
DankBrain, the AI analysis layer, scores each company on seven pillars (trend, momentum, quality, growth, valuation, analyst view and sentiment) from data already in the database. A language model running on MCCSoft's own GPU server then writes the narrative. The model is told not to invent a number and not to move the rating. Reports for the 300 largest companies by market cap refresh every week.
What it runs on
The production site runs on a dedicated server MCCSoft administers, with Cloudflare in front of it. The database is a PostgreSQL cluster with a leader and a streaming replica on separate hardware. The application reaches it through one floating address, so a failover needs no configuration change.
Three DankStocks components sit on the public status board at status.mccsoft.io: the site, the database and the market data API. On 18 October 2026 the board showed 99.99 percent for the site and the database and 100 percent for the API over the previous 90 days.
How it is tested and shipped
A Selenium suite of about 1,100 browser tests runs against the development copy in about 36 minutes. The baseline run on 21 September 2026 passed 1,124 tests and failed none. A deploy backs up the live site first, pushes the tree, rewrites the environment settings, checks that no development reference survived and stops if one did. After the push, production data is copied back to development, so the next round of testing runs against real data. The production code tree is also committed every night to MCCSoft's own git server.
What it shows about MCCSoft
A buyer can open dankstocks.com today and use the result. The same engineers, the same stack and the same operating habits (one database cluster, one status board, one backup chain) go into client work.
